Happy Kanni Ponggal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On this special day,Kanni Ponggal is a special occasion for young girls who are not married.So on this special day it is the young girls turn to cook sweet rice and offer it to God.

For the very first time,I will be going to join in the temple program to cook sweet rice.Which I don't know how to cook.But my mom will be there to guide me.And we are not allow to use Punjabi suit later but we are only allow to tie Saree.

So to all the young girls out there..

My First Kolam

For the first time I manage to draw kolam by using rice flour.Actually I got no idea how people could do it and at times I really admire the art and the way they do it.

In the below picture I manage to draw up a kolam which it taught by my "pati" an hour before I plan to do it.My mom was the one who encourage me to do but I was sitting and thought to myself should I do it as I never done it before.



At the very last minutes I manage to do it but I got to admit it even it is my first time and there is out of shape as the size is not the same.Actually I manage to drew one out.


Finally this is the final look of how it turn out at the end..
Not bad at all..


So today is "Mattu Ponggal" and I decided to do another type of kolam..
Will update that soon..

On the 25/07/2009 is St Anne feast in Bm
So most of the road here were close
It seem that this year crowd is lesser compare to last year
Bacause many people is worry of the H1N1 virus


Usually my family and I will go for the feast after the event
Less crowd will be better for us
As last year I and my mum went on the feast day is was so crowded
Until we have to smell people armpit
hahahaha


So in the morning my mum told me tata and pati will be coming for the feast
So that means I will be meeting my small aunty
Hehehe
I and my mum were suppose to go market but plan changed
As market area heavy traffic so dad took mum by motor
Loving couple

At 11.30 pati,tata and small aunty reach here
And small aunty told me she wants to drink bubble tea

This is bubble tea that she likes to drink
Lucky thay have it in Jusco
Or else I don't know where to find


And she wants to aet KFC
After so long of not eating

* I promise to take you out for chinese food maybe saturday or sunday ok


But sadly those who went for St Anne feast don't know how to take care of the enviroment

I really think Malaysian should really change their habit of throwing rubbish everywhere

Fun Time

As I said earlier in my other post that i'll be busy for my cousin wedding
It was a busy day but I had lots of fun as we cousins have the chance
To talk and have the fun in this wedding
Well what to do is my beloved "mamah" wedding
"mamah" here simply means my uncle la
But I don't called him uncle as I use to called him "Anne"

This is the "mapelai"
He was in house arrest as he were not allow to get out of the house for three days
He even told me that he feels like forever that he were not allow to get out
Kesiannya..
That is one of the rules before wedding in indian traditions


Here the "mapelai" is giving out yellow powder to all the married women
To put it on a wood
That red shirt "anne" is learning all those rules as his wedding is next
Heheheehe..

Once the stick is officially up that shows that the "mapelai" is in house arrest

This are all "aunty"
From right is my mum,aunty from norway,aka from norway,Linda anni and a neighbour aunty

Here aka is trying to show her hand is yellow
As she is proud because she was married 3 years ago
And now is her chance to bully her brother
Hehehee...

Mini Thaipusam - 8/04/09

Every year,there will be annual prayer at BM temple
So this year it was on the 8/04/09
Which is on Wednesday
And because of that I didn't go for class
As I wanted to pour milk in the morning...
It was so crowed at the temple
Till got no place to park the car..


That's me after temple...
Then is rest time
As I woke up as early

So was tired..hehehe


Just look..
How tired is he..
hahaha..

After that,have to get ready again to temple at 11am
This time the cheriot is out for us to pray




That's the cheriot..
This cheriot is not pull by a cow but by people
Yes..
That's true..
But that is everyone hardwork and effort to push and pull the cheriot..
After praying,is free food time
Hahaha
This is a day where many people will offer free food to everyone
Believe it or not
The food was very very delicious..

After that went back home..
And again is rest time..
Around 6pm again get ready to temple to see fire walking...
Just look at the crowd..









After prayed we heading back home...
Nite nite..
It was very tiring nite...

Good Citizen During Thaipusam

While I was walking around yesterday to see kavadi..I saw this guy as he control the traffic while dancing..

I am suprise that he really control the traffic as the road there were heavy traffic...And my question is "Where is the policeman?" as the police is not there and he is doin the job that police traffic were suppose to do...Good citizen...

Thaipusam In Penang 2009

Thaipusam is a Hindu festival which falls in the full moon month(Thai) of Indian calender.The festival commemorates both the birthday of Lord Murugan,the youngest son of Shiva and Parvati and the occasion when Parvati gave Murugan a vel (spear) so he could vanquish the evil demon Soorapadman. There were cheriot procession one day before thaipusam...



Many people turn up to see Lord Murugan to say thank you and their apprecietion..Besides that,the Indian and the Chinese also breaks coconut for Lord Murugan..

On Thaipusam day,as early as 1 am many people start to walk up to the Hilltop Temple,Penang..Where many of them is seen to carry milkpot for Lord Murugan...
